Dolly Ki Doli, directed by debutant Abhishek Dogra and produced by Arbaaz Khan released today. Sonam plays a con woman in the movie, who cheats guys into marrying her and then runs off with her con team. The film also stars Pulkit Samrat, Rajkummar Rao and Varun Sharma.
Story: Sonam is a con woman who has a fake family to con potential grooms. She becomes a con woman because her boyfriend dumped her. Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub played one of the members of the Dolly gang.
Ayyub’s character, Raju, is in love with Dolly but he knows he can’t be Dolly’s love because she only beleives in fake marriages. Dolly Ki Doli entertains in the first half but second half is boring. She cons three main characters Pulkit Samrat, Rajkumar Rao and Varun Sharma.
Dogra, who co-wrote Dolly Ki Doli with Uma Shankar Singh, has wrota a good plot but ending is weak. The movie filled with some laughable moments, hilarious performances and quirky characters. The climax is a sweet surprise, so just go and watch it, atleast once.
Performance: Sonam is fab, she steals the hearts with her innocent smile. She acted well at her part, naughty yet innocent Sonam cons the grooms with her clever act. Rajkumar Rao yet again proves his acting skills, he played Haryanvi man.
His dialogues, body language and accent of the language is perfect. Pulkit is good and we thought he played more chulbul pandey than his own character. Varun, with his comical expressions and superb comic timing is the most hilarious character in the film.
Music: The music has given by Sajid-Wajid and lyrics are written by Danish Sabri, Irfan Kamal. Wajid takes the lead in Babaji Ka Thullu with Danish Sabri. The song is in the 1980s mode. Malaika has a dance number in Fashion Khatam Mujhpe which is sung very well by Mamta Sharma.
The numbers that continues its charm from the beginning to the end are ‘Phatte Tak Nachna’, and ‘Mere Naina Kafir Ho Gaye.’ The overall music is good and listenable.
