Biography : Bipasha Basu is an Indian film Actress & a former model. She was born on 7th January 1979 into a Bengali family. She has two sisters. She studied at Apeejay High School. Bipasha Started her career as a model when she was just 17. During her successful modelling career, she got a film offer from Vinod Khanna who wanted to cast her opposite his son Akshay Khanna in Himalay Putra. But Bipasha rejected the offer as she was too young at that time. She also got a role in J. P. Dutta's Aakhari Mughal opposite Abhishek Bachchan but later the film was cancelled.

Finally, in 2001 Bipasha made her debut with suspense thriller film Ajnabee opposite Akshay Kumar & won Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut for her role. In 2002, Bipasha did Raaz & Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai which were box office hit. Same year she was seen in movies like David Dhawan's Chor Machaaye Shor & Gunaah which were box office failure. In 2003, Bipasha starred in Pooja Bhatt's thriller film Jism opposite John Abraham which was a huge success & was praised by critics as well. Her next released movies were Zameen, Aetbaar, Rudraksh, Rakht & Madhoshi. All failed to impress the audience.

In 2005, she did Barsaat opposite Bobby Deol & Prakash Jha's Apaharan. Her commercially successful films are No Entry, Corporate, Dhoom 2, Race & Phir Hera Pheri. In 2006, she was seen in a cameo in Vishal Bharadwaj's Omkara & got the limelight because of her Item Song "Beedi". In 2007, Bipasha starred in Ronnie Screwvala's Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal which was just average at the box office. In 2008, she was seen in Abbas-Mustan's Race which was a huge success. Same year she appeared in Siddharth Anand's Bachna Ae Haseeno which performed well at the box office. Her next released movies were Aa Dekhen Zara & All The Best: Fun Begins. In 2009, she did Rituparno Ghosh's Bengali film Shob Charitro Kalponik & recieved appreciation for her performance by critics.

In 2010, She appeared in three films Pankh, Lamhaa & Aakrosh. She did only one film in 2011, Dum Maaro Dum which was just average at the box office. In 2012, she starred in Raaz 3 alongside Emraan Hashmi & Esha Gupta. The film was a blockbuster. In 2013, she was seen in a horror movie 'Aatma'.

Besides being an actress, Bipasha is an advocate of physical fitness. In 2010, she released her first fitness DVD 'Love Yourself'. In 2014, she will be seen in Sajid Khan's Comedy film Humshakals, Vikram Bhatt's Creature 3D & Siddharth Anand's Bang Bang.
